We recently had our family photos done at Warren Dunes State Park. Arielle Peters always does a fabulous job and as soon as I saw she was going to do it at the Dunes I jumped to sign up. Fall family photos just aren’t my vibe. And it’s honestly so nice to get the shots that I can’t physically get myself, at least not as quickly even with a timer and remote. I think I’m getting better at outfits too. It was a challenge – I have got to stop waiting until the very last s e c o n d to do things and figure things out but I’m really happy with how we looked as a unit. That’s typically where things fall apart for me when it comes to liking an image. Also, I really love hats (and hate my dark roots) but never wear them so of course I pulled my favorite out for the shoot. Anyhow, I forget just how breathtaking this place is and how close it is to us. I’m definitely planning on being there more often this summer. The kids loved it and there were so many smoothed stones. I’ll have to go through my shots I got from the first night we went (our original date got rained out but we stayed until it stopped and just hung out). That night Justin taught the kids how to skip stones and I got Kate’s first skipper on video. She was so excited, ha! Beckett found pudding stones for grandma and it was just a really nice time despite the fact it had rained.

Of course I had to bring my camera along too… Justin sporting my sweater and hat were some of my favs. And he was sweet enough to get some shots of me while the kids were playing. I haven’t gone through all of the images yet (I really take way too many) but picked out a handful that I liked. I’ve really been trying to push myself on editing lately and getting things done a little bit faster. My backlog is ridiculous and I just haven’t found that rhythm yet but the kids are both going to be in school full time this fall so I think maybe then I’ll get some kind of routine/normalcy. It’s really crazy how fast time has went and that this is my last summer with my babies before their in school school.. Definitely soaking up nights like these at the Dunes as much as I can.

Loved that he got a shot of me scoping out the common milkweed looking for monarch eggs, ha!
